I think every enterprise needs a reason to be.  For them to last, that reason needs to be more than profit or power.  Some larger reason based on doing good in the world or at least your small corner of that world.  I think one of our reasons for Aborn Property Management to have prospered for over 3 decades can be summed up in one client’s story.

Three years ago I called one or our long term clients to let them know that their tenant of 16 years was finally moving out, He told me that he had just retired and was thinking it might be time to sell his rental.  We listed and sold his home and when it closed we put nearly a half million in his hand.  One of the things he told me at closing was that when he originally contacted us he was so fed up with the act of managing his property he was ready to sell it just to get away from the aggravation.  Had he sold it then his net would have been less that $50,000

So one good reason for Aborn Property Management to exist is so investors get to keep their investment in real estate and get to live the life they want.  When we are up to our neck with plugged drains, leaking roofs and broken windows, it is good for us to remember that we are a small part of preserving the wealth of 175 clients and that is indeed good for our corner of the world.
